Seeds and Growth for Media is the accelerator for Flemish startups to grow their business in the media sector by offering matchmaking and piloting tracks, media-expert masterclasses, and business coaching. Seeds and Growth for Media is a VLAIO-supported project organized by the consortium of Medianet, VRT, Future Media Hubs and Thomas More.

Mission

Seeds and Growth for Media strengthens the start-up and scale-up ecosystem for media and audiovisual companies in Flanders. With financial support of VLAIO (Agentschap Innoveren & Ondernemen), the project provides a streamlined end-to-end value chain to support young and early-stage companies, offering them a clear growth path. By better aligning the various links in the media ecosystem, the project aims for a seamless transition from local to international success.

Vision

Seeds and Growth for Media aims to create a leading ecosystem that enables young media professionals and start-ups in Flanders to innovate, grow, and internationalize. The project promotes the digital transformation within the media and audiovisual sector by embracing new technologies and supporting companies in harnessing these opportunities. Through strong collaboration between media companies, educational institutions, and accelerator programs, the gap between creativity and technology is bridged.The project will organize 3 open calls between January 2023 and July 2026 where both tech startups and young content production companies can apply to pitch and test their solution to one of the Flemish media organizations. Additionally, selected startups will receive the necessary support to grow their business in a 3-to-6-month track after the open call has ended.
